- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups red wine
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
- In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat and sauté the onion, carrots, and celery until softened.
- Add the red wine and beef broth to the pot and bring to a simmer.
- Once the meatballs are ready, carefully place them into the pot and cover.
- Transfer the pot to the preheated oven and braise for 45 minutes.
- Check the meatballs and sauce; if needed, let them cook for an additional 15 minutes.
- Serve hot with your favorite side.
