  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed hard candies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, beating until just combined.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  7. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
  8. Use a small cookie cutter to cut out the center of each cookie and fill with crushed hard candies.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  10. Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • For best results, use clear or light-colored hard candies for the stained glass effect.
  • These cookies can be decorated with icing after baking for added fun!
