Indulge in a creamy and delicious twist on the classic spaghetti alla carbonara using turkey bacon for a lighter yet satisfying meal.

  • 12 ounces spaghetti
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and chop.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, Parmesan cheese, garlic, and black pepper.
  4. Once spaghetti is cooked, reserve some pasta water, then drain.
  5. Add the hot spaghetti to the bowl with the egg mixture, tossing quickly. The heat will cook the eggs.
  6. Add the chopped turkey bacon and parsley, mixing until evenly combined.
  7. If the mixture is too thick, add some reserved pasta water to achieve desired consistency.
  8. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan on top.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, you can omit the turkey bacon and add sautéed vegetables.
  • Make sure to toss the spaghetti quickly with the egg mixture to avoid scrambling the eggs.
