Slow Cooked Shredded Beef Ragu Pasta

A hearty and flavorful slow cooked shredded beef ragu served over pasta, perfect for a comforting meal.

  • 2 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pound pasta of choice

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  2. Transfer the onion and garlic to a slow cooker. Add beef, broth, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until beef is tender.
  4. Shred the beef with two forks and return it to the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
  5. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and serve topped with the beef ragu.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sear the beef before adding it to the slow cooker.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like carrots or bell peppers to the sauce.
