  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar until smooth.
  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. If using, fold in the sprinkles.
  6. Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a log.
  7. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  8. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  9. Slice the logs into 1/4-inch thick rounds and place on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  11. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
