- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup whipped cream
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the egg, food coloring, and vanilla, then mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, then fold in the whipped cream.
- Pour half of the red velvet batter into the prepared pan, spread the cream cheese mixture over it, and top with the remaining batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool, then cut into bites and serve.
