Pasta alla Sorrentina

Pasta alla Sorrentina is a classic Italian dish that brings the comforting flavors of melted cheese and rich tomato sauce together in a perfect harmony.

Ingredients

  • 400 grams pasta
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 250 grams mozzarella cheese
  • 50 grams grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. In a pan, combine the marinara sauce and olive oil, then add cooked pasta.
  4. Stir in half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, mixing well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  6. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
  • Can be made ahead and baked just before serving.
