My Favorite Apple Pie Recipe

  • 6 cups thinly sliced, peeled apples
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 package refrigerated pie crusts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss together the sliced apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan and fill it with the apple mixture.
  4. Dot the mixture with butter.
  5. Cover with the top crust, sealing and cutting slits for steam.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
  7. Reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes or until the apples are soft.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some lemon juice to the apple mixture.
