Muhammara

Muhammara is a delicious dip made from roasted red peppers and walnuts, perfect for spreading on bread or using as a dip.

Ingredients

  • 2 red bell peppers, roasted
  • 1 cup walnuts, toasted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon pomegranate molasses
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Roast the bell peppers until skin is charred, then peel and remove seeds.
  2. In a food processor, combine the roasted peppers, walnuts, and garlic.
  3. Add olive oil, pomegranate molasses, cumin, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
  6. Transfer to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil before serving.

Notes

  • This dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to a week.
