Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding

A classic recipe for Magnolia Bakery’s beloved banana pudding that’s rich, creamy, and incredibly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 5 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 package (12 oz) vanilla wafers

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, mix the milk, cream, sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Once it thickens, remove from heat and temper the egg yolks with a little of the hot mixture before adding back to the saucepan.
  3. Stir in vanilla extract and allow to cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, layer vanilla wafers, banana slices, and pudding mixture. Repeat layers.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
