- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 10 turkey bacon strips
- Oil for frying
- In a large bowl, mix the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Preheat the oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Cut the turkey bacon strips in half and dip each piece in the batter, then carefully place in the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
