  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the applesauce, molasses, sugars, oil, and eggs until well combined.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Let cool before frosting.
  7. For the frosting, mix together butter, powdered sugar, molasses, and cinnamon until smooth.
