A delicious twist on the classic apple pie with caramel swirls that make it perfect for fall.

  • 6 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 package pie crusts
  • ½ cup caramel sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Roll out the pie crusts and place one in a pie pan.
  4. Add the apple mixture to the crust, then drizzle caramel sauce over the top.
  5. Dot with butter, then cover with the second pie crust. Seal and cut slits for steam to escape.
  6. Brush the top with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool before serving.
