Dad’s Creamy & Cheesy Au Gratin Potatoes

Delicious and creamy au gratin potatoes with a twist of turkey bacon for added flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. Slice the potatoes thinly and layer half in the baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the cheeses.
  6. Layer the remaining potatoes and pour the rest of the cream on top.
  7. Top with the remaining cheese and crumbled turkey bacon.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown.
  9. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use a mixture of cheeses.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like broccoli or spinach.
