Cherry Pie Bars Recipe

A delicious recipe for cherry pie bars that are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Add the softened butter and egg, and mix until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  5. Spread the cherry pie filling over the crust.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining mixture over the top of the cherries.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
