  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, eggs, flour, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread caramel sauce over the dough.
  7. Layer apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg on top of the caramel.
  8. Cut the dough into strips and braid it. Place on a baking sheet.
  9. Brush with egg wash and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
