  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until it turns golden brown.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix well.
  4. Add in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. For the brownie layer, mix cocoa powder into half of the cookie dough, and spread that layer into a baking dish.
  9. Top with remaining cookie dough and swirl together lightly.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
