  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream

  • 24 savoiardi (ladyfingers)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until creamy.
  2. In a saucepan, heat milk until steaming, then slowly whisk into egg mixture.
  3. Cook mixture over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool.
  5. In another bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold into cooled egg mixture.
  6. Combine coffee and coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
  7. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and layer them in a serving dish.
  8. Spread half of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers.
  9. Repeat the layers, finishing with the cream on top.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.
  11. Sift cocoa powder over the top before serving.
