Crème Brûlée French Toast

A decadent breakfast treat that combines the classic dessert flavor of crème brûlée with the comforting essence of French toast.

  • 1 loaf brioche bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (for caramelizing)

Instructions

  1. Slice the brioche bread into thick slices and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Soak each slice of bread in the mixture for a few minutes on each side.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  5. Arrange soaked bread slices in the baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and the custard has set.
  7. Evenly sprinkle brown sugar on top and broil for 2-3 minutes to caramelize the sugar, watching closely to avoid burning.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!
